Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Panasonic 5.8 GHZ Expandable Digital Cordless Answering System - Dual Handset System (KX-TG4322B)

Customer Review: Great phone system
Summary: 5 Stars

We've had this phone now for about 9 months and it's really been fantastic. We bought the two phone system to start, and then bought an additional single handset to add to it. Adding it was a piece of cake.

I got this phone because I have only one phone jack on my main floor in a very inconvenient place. I did not want to hang the phone on the wall because the outlet is at child-level and tempting for little hands to pull out. So an expandable system where all I needed was a regular outlet was very attractive to me. The base is on our third floor, and the extensions are on the kitchen counter ont he main level and the lower level.

I LOVE the phonebook, and that it's on every phone so you don't have to program numbers into each phone individually. I especially like that it keeps the name that you entered in and uses it as the caller ID name when that person calls. For example, on my old phone, I had my husbands cell phone entered into the phonebook, but when he called it still said, "Twin Cities, MN" and the phone number. But this phone actually says, "Hubby Cell" and the phone number. I really like that.

It's a little annoying to have to transfer the call from one phone to another because you cannot have two extensions on at the same time, but not a huge deal. Once you practice it a few times, it's quick and easy. I really like the intercom system, so when I am up on the third floor and my husband is in the basement and the kids are sleeping, I can just give him a quick call...very nice feature.

I have the extension go into night mode at 7:30pm so late-night telemarketers don't wake the kids. Or the occaional freak who misdials our number at 2am asking for a ride home from the bar.

I love being able to check the answering machine from any handset, and that it blinks when there is a message or new voice mail.

I do get the occasional echo in the phone, but it clears itself up within the first 30 seconds of the phone call. I actually think it has more to do with in-home interference with my router, which is sitting right next to the phone base.

Range into the yard was extremely poor...I could not go 80 feet into the yard without serious static, but that was when the base was in my concrete-walled basement. I moved it to the third level of my home and can now go out past my garage, which is over 120 feet.

So all in all...I'm very pleased with this phone and hope it lasts us for years. When it dies, we'll replace with another Panasonic.

Description of Panasonic 5.8 GHZ Expandable Digital Cordless Answering System - Dual Handset System (KX-TG4322B)

Panasonic KX-TG4322B 5.8GHz Expandable Digital Cordless Answering System w/2Handsets
Packed with contemporary features, the Panasonic KX-TG4322B 5.8 GHz Expandable Cordless Digital Answering Phone System includes handy call waiting and caller ID features, an all-digital answering machine with 12 minutes of recording time, a 50-station shared phonebook, and a digital handset speakerphone.

With the Panasonic answering system, you'll never miss important calls, even when the ringer is off. The integrated light-up indicator featured at the base of the handset's antenna will flash quickly when an incoming call is in progress, and will flash slowly to let you know you have a new message. Should you choose to expand the answering system to include additional handsets, each handset can be programmed to ring or simply flash at your discretion. The system is compatible with up to three additional handsets (for a total of four).

In addition to the standard call waiting feature, this system comes with call waiting caller ID2, a feature that allows you to see who's calling you if you're already taking a call. Other great features include a 50-station shared phonebook, a handy charge indicator, a backlit LCD display, and a convenient intercom feature. Providing up to five hours of cordless talk time, the handset's rechargeable Ni-MH battery offers up to 11 days of uncharged standby battery life.
