Customer Review: Solved our U-73 error for Panasonic DMP-BD60 Bluray Player

We have had our DMP-BD60 Blu ray for just over a year. Haven't used it much because it always hung up temporarily while playing regular DVDs, Bluray or downloads from Amazon. We thought it was to be expected from the reviews and didn't really interfere that much. Still took some away from enjoying the player to use it regularly. With the most recent firmware update to the player we then started getting a U73 error. I started researching this error and most articles suggested there was a problem with the HDMI cable. We were using a very cheap, Amazon basics HDMI cable as I don't know much about Bluray and didn't think it mattered. The Amazon basics got high reviews. Once I realized it might be an HDMI cable issue, I decided to get a Panasonic cable. After all our Plasma TV and bluray player are both Panasonic so it made sense to keep the brand the same for the cable. This was under $30 which is much less than the Monster cables. What a difference this made! All weekend I've been watching my Amazon downloaded movies, regular Christmas DVDs and Blu-ray movies. No U73 error and no 'hangups' with the play. Very clear picture and smooth playing. So happy with this product and that we will now be able to get more use out of our player!
The only gripe I have about this product is the packaging. Why manufacture's have to make the plastic packaging so hard to open, who knows. But that's typical. As for the product itself, I have no issues (yet).
